433MHz Gate & Access
Control Antennas
External 433MHz antennas for gate motor boards, garage door openers, and access control receivers. Fix short remote range caused by steel housings, long driveways, and underground carparks. Australian manufactured, individually tested.
When you need an external 433MHz antenna
Gate motor housing shields the internal antenna
The 433MHz receiver board inside a gate motor sits inside a steel or aluminium housing. That housing acts as a partial Faraday cage — the internal stub antenna is shielded and effective range drops to 10–30m even on a system rated to 100m. Fitting an external antenna (DG433BT-Stubby or DG433-CT) eliminates the shielding. The improvement comes from getting the antenna outside the metal, not from antenna gain.
Long driveway — remote range falls short
Gate remotes are typically rated at 80–100m in open air, but real-world range on a long driveway with vegetation, fencing, or elevation changes is often 30–50m. Where the gate motor housing is the limiting factor, an external DG433BT-Stubby restores rated range. Where rated range itself isn't enough, the DG433EF elevated feed (+3 dBi, mounted on the gate post or pillar) delivers approximately 2× the reliable range of the standard internal antenna.
Underground carpark or basement gate
Concrete floor slabs and reinforced concrete walls attenuate 433MHz by 10–20 dB per surface. A gate motor at the base of an underground ramp or in a basement carpark may have a receiver antenna shielded by multiple concrete surfaces between it and the remote user approaching on the street. The DG433-CT with 5m cable routes the antenna to a position with better line-of-sight — typically at grade level or just inside the carpark entrance.
DG433 Series — Select by installation type
All tuned to 433.92 MHz ISM. Individually tested on Anritsu Site Master before dispatch.
DG433BT-Stubby
Compact Stubby — Gate Motor MountBest for gate motorsThe standard choice for gate motor board installations. Ultra-compact profile fits inside the gate motor housing without fouling the lid or motor mechanism. Threads directly onto the SMA Female port on the receiver PCB. Used where clearance is tight and a full-size antenna physically obstructs the housing.
DG433-BT
Barrel-Thread 433MHz OmniFull-size direct-mount antenna for gate motor boards or access control receivers where the SMA Female port is on the external face of the enclosure and vertical clearance is not a constraint. Threads directly onto the SMA Female port — no cable routing required.
DG433-CT
Cable-Terminated 433MHz OmniFor gate motors with a sealed metal housing where the receiver board's SMA port is not accessible from the outside. The 5m RG58 cable routes from the internal SMA Female port through the housing and out to the antenna mounted externally. Eliminates the shielding effect of the metal motor body — range improvement is significant even at 0 dBi.
DG433EF
Elevated Feed 433MHzHigh-gain elevated feed for long-driveway and large-site installations where maximum remote range is the goal. The elevated feed structure provides +3 dBi — approximately 2× the reliable range of a standard 0 dBi dipole. Mount externally on the gate motor post or pillar for unobstructed line-of-sight coverage across the full driveway length.

Why gate installers specify D&G
Tuned to 433.92 MHz
Not a wideband ISM antenna de-rated to cover 433 MHz. The DG433 series is precision-tuned to 433.92 MHz for optimal SWR and gain at the specific frequency used by Australian gate motor remotes and access control systems.
Individually tested
Every antenna is tested on an Anritsu Site Master before dispatch. No batch sampling — every unit shipped matches the published specification.
Three connector options
SMA Male direct-mount (stubby or full-size) for board-level installation. SMA Male with 5m RG58 cable for routing outside a sealed housing. Match the option to your gate motor — not to a generic catalogue.
