About the Centaur / Centair Communicator
The Centaur and Centair are alarm communicators used extensively in ADT, Johnson Controls, and Wormald commercial and industrial monitoring installations across Australia. They provide 4G cellular back-to-base communication and are found in everything from small retail premises to large industrial complexes.
The Centaur uses a TNC Female coaxial connector for the cellular antenna — a more robust connector type than SMA, appropriate for permanent commercial installation. Replacement and upgrade antennas must match the TNC impedance and connector specification.

Wormald fire and security systems
Wormald uses Centaur and Centair communicators in fire monitoring and integrated security installations. The TNC connector is the standard on these units — D&G supplies tested TNC-fit antennas for replacement and upgrade.
Industrial and remote monitoring
Centaur communicators are used on industrial sites, mining operations, and remote commercial premises. For sites on the edge of 4G coverage, a Yagi upgrade provides the link margin for reliable monitoring.
High-rise commercial premises
Commercial high-rise buildings with Centaur communicators in plant rooms or electrical risers require external antennas routed to the building's exterior. TNC-to-N extension cables with external omnis are the standard solution.

Direct-fit external omni for Centaur and Centair communicators with TNC Female antenna ports. 5 dBi wideband gain across Australian 4G bands. Wall or pole mount. IP65 for permanent outdoor installation on commercial and industrial sites.
DGY900-6 — Yagi Directional (with TNC adapter)
High-gain Yagi for Centaur installations on remote and fringe-coverage sites. N Female to TNC Male adapter connects the Yagi's N Female port to the Centaur's TNC Female antenna port. 11 dBi gain at high-band LTE for distant tower connections.
TNC Male to N Female Extension Cable
Extension cable for routing from the Centaur's TNC Female port to an external antenna mounting point. Low-loss LMR240 or LMR400 coax. Built to length — specify required run length at order.
TNC Male to N Male Pigtail
Short adapter pigtail for connecting the Centaur's TNC Female port to external N Female antennas. 30 cm standard. Used where the antenna is located adjacent to the communicator and a short adapter is all that's required.

TNC connector expertise
TNC is a more demanding connector than SMA. Our TNC cable assemblies are built with proper weatherproofing, correct torque specifications, and are tested for insertion loss and VSWR before dispatch.
Custom TNC cable assemblies
Extension cables in any length with TNC Male at the communicator end and N Female or N Male at the antenna end. Low-loss LMR240 or LMR400 coax for longer runs.
