RISCO LightSYS+
External 4G Antenna

The RISCO LightSYS+ with RP432G4 4G module includes an external antenna — but in shielded enclosures, basements, and fringe-coverage sites, a higher-gain external replacement is needed. This guide covers the right antenna and cable for the job.

About the RISCO LightSYS+ 4G Module

The RISCO LightSYS+ is a commercial-grade alarm panel widely deployed across Australian residential and commercial installations. The RP432G4V1EUA is the 4G GSM module for the LightSYS+, providing voice and data communication via 4G, GSM, and GPRS as primary or backup path.

The RP432G4 module includes an external antenna pigtail for routing out of the panel enclosure. The supplied antenna is a compact stub adequate for open installations. In difficult RF environments, a replacement high-gain external omni significantly improves signal margin.

Common installation scenarios

RP432G4 in shielded enclosure

The LightSYS+ panel enclosure is metal. The RP432G4's supplied antenna inside the enclosure is heavily attenuated by the metal housing. Route a pigtail and external cable to a wall-mount omni outside the enclosure.

Commercial basement and plant room

RISCO LightSYS+ is widely used in commercial premises including retail, office, and warehouse sites. Basement plant rooms have poor 4G coverage — route an external cable up to a surface-mount antenna at slab level.

Apartment building back-to-base

Multi-storey residential installations with RISCO panels often have inconsistent 4G signal in plant rooms and underground carpark areas. External antenna at the building exterior resolves coverage issues without changing the communicator module.

Fringe commercial and rural sites

Rural commercial premises — farms, agricultural businesses, wineries — where LightSYS+ is installed as a back-to-base system. The Yagi upgrade provides reliable signalling on towers at greater distance.

Recommended D&G Products for RISCO LightSYS+

All antennas individually tested before dispatch. Custom cable assemblies in any length.

DG900MB-HG — 5GNR Broadband Omni

External replacement for the RP432G4's supplied antenna. Higher gain than the standard stub with IP65 outdoor rating for external mounting. Use with a short SMA Male to N Male pigtail to connect to the RP432G4 module port.

DGY900-6 — Yagi Directional Antenna

For RISCO installations in fringe coverage or rural locations. 11 dBi directional gain provides the link margin needed for reliable alarm signalling on marginal 4G towers. Point toward the nearest tower serving the site.

SMA Male to N Male Pigtail

Adapter cable for connecting the RP432G4 module's SMA Female port to the N Female port on external antennas. 30 cm standard — custom lengths available for routing through conduit or the panel enclosure.

Custom Cable Assembly

Custom low-loss coaxial cable runs for routing from panel to external antenna location. LMR240 for runs under 5 m, LMR400 for longer runs where insertion loss is critical.

Why RISCO installers specify D&G

Individually tested antennas

Every antenna tested on Anritsu Site Master before dispatch. A failed antenna on a back-to-base system means a missed alarm and a service call — we eliminate that risk at source.

Australian stock, no lead time risk

Antennas and cable assemblies in stock at Penrith. No import wait. For RISCO dealers carrying ongoing installs, consistent availability is essential.

Custom cable assemblies

SMA and N connector cable assemblies in any length for routing through panel enclosures and into cable trays. Specify connector types and length — we build and test to order.
