About the Bosch Solution 6000 Communicator
The Bosch Solution 6000 is one of the most widely installed commercial alarm panels in Australia. The CM746B (LTE/4G) and CM748B (dual-path) cellular communicator modules add 4G connectivity to the panel, providing the primary or backup communication path to the monitoring station.
Both the CM746B and CM748B feature an external SMA Female antenna port. The standard supplied antenna is a rubber stub — adequate in many installations, but inadequate where the enclosure is in a shielded location.

Common installation scenarios
CM746B in metal enclosure
The Bosch Solution 6000 enclosure is steel. The CM746B communicator's stub antenna is blocked by the enclosure wall. An N-Male to SMA-Male pigtail exits the enclosure to an external wall-mount omni for full signal recovery.
Commercial basement monitoring
Commercial premises with basement plant rooms are among the most common use cases. Route a low-loss coaxial from the CM746B through conduit to an external omni at street level or above the slab.
Industrial and rural commercial sites
Remote commercial sites — rural showrooms, mining-area retail, agricultural business premises — may have marginal 4G coverage. A 6–11 dBi directional antenna provides the margin for reliable monitoring.
High-rise and multi-storey
Signal strength in high-rise buildings is not always better at height — adjacent towers and building structures create interference. An external antenna mounted on the building exterior removes this issue.

For remote commercial and industrial sites with a known tower direction. 11 dBi at high-band LTE provides substantial link margin over the stub antenna. Point toward nearest Telstra or Optus tower — no LTE band selection required.
SMA Male to N Male Pigtail
Connects the CM746B SMA Female port to the N Female port on external D&G antennas. 30 cm standard — custom lengths available for longer cable runs through conduit.
Custom Cable Assembly
Low-loss LMR240 or LMR400 coaxial for routing through plant rooms, conduit, or cable trays. Custom built to your site specification. SMA or N at each termination.
