About the Bosch Solution 6000 Communicator
The Bosch Solution 6000 is one of the most widely installed commercial alarm panels in Australia. The CM746B and CM748B (LTE Cat 1, dual SIM) plug-on modules add 4G connectivity to the panel, providing the primary or backup communication path to the monitoring station.
Both ship with a magnetic base antenna. Bosch describes the CM746B's as mounting onto the metal cabinet, and rates the CM748B's at 3 dBi on an integrated SMA lead. Adequate in strong-signal areas, not where the cabinet sits in a shielded location. Module-specific guides: CM746B · CM748B.

Common installation scenarios
Antenna on the steel cabinet
The Solution 6000 enclosure is steel, and the supplied magnetic antenna is designed to mount onto it. That is usually the weakest signal spot in the room. Move the antenna out of the cabinet and above it, or fit an external omni on a low-loss lead.
Commercial basement monitoring
Commercial premises with basement plant rooms are among the most common use cases. Route a low-loss coaxial from the module through conduit to an external omni at street level or above the slab.
Industrial and rural commercial sites
Remote commercial sites — rural showrooms, mining-area retail, agricultural business premises — may have marginal 4G coverage. A 12 dBi directional antenna on the low bands provides the margin for reliable monitoring.
High-rise and multi-storey
Signal strength in high-rise buildings is not always better at height — adjacent towers and building structures create interference. An external antenna mounted on the building exterior removes this issue.

DG900MB-HG — High Gain Multiband Omni
7.0 dBi at 700–1000 MHz, the low bands that carry through concrete and steel, and 3.5 dBi at 1710–2600 MHz. Order SMA termination for the CM748B; confirm the CM746B's connector first. Pole or wall bracket mount.
DGY900-6 — 6 Element Yagi
For remote commercial and industrial sites with a known tower direction. 12 dBi aimed at the tower with a 14 dB front-to-back ratio. Covers the low bands only, 700–960 MHz. Point toward the nearest Telstra or Optus tower.
Custom Cable Assembly
Low-loss ALSR195 (lower loss than RG58) or LMR400 coaxial for routing through plant rooms, conduit or cable trays. Built to your site's run length, with the termination your module needs at each end.
