DG900MB-HG — 5GNR Broadband Omni
Primary external antenna for all outdoor N-Female LoRaWAN gateways — Dragino DLOS8N, RAK7240/7289, Milesight UG67, Kerlink iStation, Tektelic Kona Macro. IP67 outdoor rated. Mast or wall mount. The 915 MHz AU915 band sits in the middle of the 700–3800 MHz coverage range.
DGY900-6 — Yagi Directional Antenna
For rural AU farms and remote sites where maximum range is needed in a specific direction. 6–11 dBi directional gain pointed toward the sensor cluster. Recommended for point-to-point gateway-to-repeater links and single-direction agricultural deployments. Mast clamp mount.
N-Male to N-Male Cable Assembly
For N-Female outdoor gateways (Dragino DLOS8N, RAK7240/7289, UG67, Kerlink). LMR200 for runs up to 5 m. LMR400 for runs 5–15 m from rooftop or mast to gateway. Specify connector and length — built to order from Penrith.
RP-SMA Male to N-Male Pigtail
For indoor RP-SMA gateways (Dragino LPS8N/LIG16, RAK7268, SenseCAP M2, MultiTech MTCAP, Tektelic Kona Micro) connecting to D&G N-Female external antennas. 30 cm standard, custom lengths available.
Common deployment scenarios
Rural AU farm — maximum range deployment
Australian farmland typically has flat terrain and sparse coverage. An outdoor gateway pole-mounted at 5–10 m height with an DG900MB-HG omni (5–8 dBi) achieves 5–15 km range under AU915 LoRaWAN spreading factors. For directional sensor clusters, the DGY900-6 Yagi extends range further still. LMR400 cable runs up to 15 m keep insertion loss within budget at 915 MHz.
Urban or suburban LoRaWAN network node
Dense urban environments need lower gain (3–5 dBi) to avoid overshooting nearby nodes. The DG900MB-HG at 3 dBi nominal provides the ideal beam pattern for gateway-to-node coverage in commercial or industrial precincts. Pole or rooftop parapet mount via N-Male cable assembly from the N-Female gateway port.
Indoor gateway with external antenna upgrade
Dragino LPS8N and RAK7268 are frequently deployed indoors for cost or convenience but suffer from building attenuation. An RP-SMA Male to N-Male pigtail + an DG900MB-HG mounted externally — on a wall bracket or through a cable gland — recovers the lost gain and dramatically extends coverage without replacing the gateway.
Smart water metering gateway infrastructure
Water utility gateways (Kerlink iStation, Tektelic Kona Macro) are carrier-grade outdoor units with N-Female antenna ports. A D&G DG900MB-HG replaces or supplements the supplied antenna for sites with obstructions or where the supplied 3 dBi fiberglass doesn't reach the required meter coverage radius. Custom LMR400 cable runs available for pit or underground enclosure mounts.
