Esse-ti 5IG-251
External 4G Antenna
The Esse-ti 5IG-251 is an EN81-28 and RCM certified 4G lift emergency phone gateway with 35 years of elevator industry heritage behind it. Distributed in AU/NZ by EPANZ Elevator Parts. The supplied magnetic-base antenna is a commissioning aid — this guide covers the correct permanent external antenna and cable for every installation scenario.

About the Esse-ti 5IG-251
Esse-ti (Italy) has manufactured lift safety and communication equipment for over 35 years. The 5IG-251 is the Australian frequency variant — distinct from the European 5IG-280 — and is distributed in AU/NZ exclusively by EPANZ Elevator Parts (epanz.com.au).
The gateway runs 4G VoLTE primary with UMTS and GSM fallback, and supports DTMF over VoIP. Battery backup is a NiMH 7.2V 800mAh cell providing 1–2 hours talk time and 8+ hours standby. Power is 12Vdc or 230Vac adapter. The SMA Female antenna port is 50Ω — antenna not supplied, must be sourced separately.

Common installation scenarios
Replacing the supplied magnetic-base antenna
The 5IG-251 is supplied with a magnetic-base antenna on a 2m SMA Male pigtail — a commissioning aid, not a permanent installation antenna. Remove it, connect a D&G SMA Male to N Male pigtail to the gateway SMA Female port, route to an DG900MB-HG mounted externally on the wall or above roofline. Fixed, weatherproof, and IP67 rated for the life of the gateway.
Enclosure-mounted gateway
The 5IG-251 is often installed inside a trunking box or enclosure where the magnetic-base antenna cannot grip or is physically blocked. The external SMA Female port exits through a gland to an outdoor DG900MB-HG omni. Full signal recovery from an otherwise shielded installation.
Multi-storey building shaft signal issues
If the DG900MB-HG at rooftop level is insufficient due to building geometry or tower orientation, the DGY900-6 Yagi directed toward the nearest cell tower delivers 6–11 dBi gain improvement. Resolves persistent call quality issues that the supplied antenna and standard omni cannot address.
Remote or regional site — low-band 4G
In regional AU, B28 (700 MHz) is often the only available 4G band. The DG900MB-HG covers 700–3800 MHz, ensuring the lowest AU LTE band is captured alongside all mid and high bands. The 5IG-251's 4G VoLTE + UMTS + GSM fallback chain maximises connection options at marginal-coverage sites.
Recommended D&G Products for Esse-ti 5IG-251
All antennas and cable assemblies individually tested. Custom cable assemblies quoted to site drawings.
DG900MB-HG — 5GNR Broadband Omni
Primary external antenna for the Esse-ti 5IG-251. IP67 outdoor rated for wall or mast mount. Replaces the supplied magnetic-base antenna for permanent machine room installations. Covers all Telstra and Optus 4G bands including low-band B28 (700 MHz) for regional AU sites.
DGY900-6 — Yagi Directional Antenna
For multi-storey buildings with persistent call quality issues and low-signal fringe sites. 6–11 dBi directional gain toward the nearest cell tower resolves problems the supplied magnetic-base antenna cannot fix. Pairs with LMR400 cable assemblies.
SMA Male to N Male Pigtail
Connects the 5IG-251 SMA Female antenna port directly to D&G N Female antennas. No adapter required. 30 cm standard for cabinet or trunking box installs. Custom lengths available.
Custom Cable Assembly
LMR200 for machine room runs up to 10 m. LMR400 for 10–15 m runs where the 5IG-251 is installed inside an enclosure and the antenna must exit to an outdoor position. Built to site specification — no cutting on-site.
Why lift companies specify D&G for Esse-ti sites
Direct SMA Male to SMA Female connection
The 5IG-251's SMA Female port connects directly to D&G's SMA Male pigtails. No adapter required. The connection is clean, rated, and matched at 50Ω throughout.
Replaces the supplied antenna properly
The supplied magnetic-base antenna is a commissioning aid, not a permanent installation antenna. D&G's externally-mounted IP67 omni provides weatherproof, fixed-position signal for the life of the gateway — as the installation standard requires.
Custom cable length for any routing
D&G builds the SMA cable to your exact site measurement. No cutting on-site, no performance-compromising joins. LMR200 or LMR400 depending on run length and loss budget.
100% tested before dispatch
Every antenna is tested on an Anritsu Site Master. A failed emergency call from a faulty antenna is a compliance breach and a liability. We eliminate that risk at source.
