Pixel EM-4GE
External 4G Antenna

The Pixel EM-4GE series — EM-4GE1/1L, EM-4GE2/1L, and EM-4GE2/4L — are Australian-made 4G lift emergency phone gateways with a standard SMA Female, 50Ω external antenna port. This guide covers the correct D&G antenna and cable for every machine room scenario.

About the Pixel EM-4GE Series

Pixel Technologies (Sydney) manufactures the EM-4GE series specifically for the Australian vertical transport market. All models are AS1735.19 and EN81-28 certified, RCM approved, and distributed in New Zealand by Cirrus International (Christchurch).

The FXS interface provides a 48V DC loop current and 90V AC ring voltage — a direct PSTN replacement for existing lift car phone wiring. Automated 3-day test calls to the monitoring centre are mandated under AS1735.19 and are built into the gateway firmware. SMS alerts for battery-low, mains-loss, and battery-fail are configurable to up to 3 nominated contacts.

Common installation scenarios

EM-4GE1/1L in roof plant room

Single-lift installations typically use the EM-4GE1/1L in a roof-level machine room. A 30 cm SMA Male to N Male pigtail connects the gateway to an DG900MB-HG omni mounted on the plant room wall or rooftop parapet.

EM-4GE2/4L serving a 4-lift bank

The EM-4GE2/4L aggregates up to 4 lift emergency phones onto a single gateway and a single antenna. One DG900MB-HG serves the entire bank — there is no requirement for one antenna per lift car.

Basement machine room — long cable run

Machine rooms below ground level require an LMR400 cable run of 10–15 m from the EM-4GE gateway up to an external antenna at street level or on the building exterior. D&G builds these assemblies to exact site length.

Low-signal site — Yagi for link margin

On fringe-coverage sites, the DGY900-6 Yagi provides 6–11 dBi of directional gain pointed at the nearest Telstra or Optus tower. Particularly effective for rural or semi-rural lift installations where omni gain is insufficient.

Recommended D&G Products for Pixel EM-4GE

All antennas and cable assemblies individually tested. Custom cable assemblies quoted to site drawings.

DG900MB-HG — 5GNR Broadband Omni

Primary external antenna for all EM-4GE models. Outdoor wall or mast mount. Covers all Telstra and Optus 4G bands. For the EM-4GE2/4L, a single DG900MB-HG provides coverage for the entire 4-lift bank — the gateway aggregates all emergency calls onto one antenna port.

DGY900-6 — Yagi Directional Antenna

For low-signal machine rooms and basement installations. Point toward the nearest Telstra or Optus tower to recover maximum link margin. Recommended where the stub antenna or omni delivers marginal RSSI on site survey.

Why lift companies specify D&G

Active vertical transport supplier

D&G is an active supplier to the Australian vertical transport industry including Hamilton Elevators NSW. We understand machine room constraints, cable routing requirements, and AS1735.19 compliance needs.

100% tested before dispatch

Every antenna and cable assembly is tested on an Anritsu Site Master before it leaves our Penrith warehouse. A failed antenna in a lift machine room is a compliance breach — we eliminate that risk at source.

Custom cable lengths, any run

Machine room layouts vary. We build LMR200 and LMR400 cable assemblies from 1 m to 20 m with SMA Male and N Male terminations to match the EM-4GE port and D&G antenna exactly.

Stocked in Penrith

No import lead times. Standard items available for same-day collection from Penrith. Custom cable assemblies on a 2-week build lead time.
